Thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts as I take on the Great Victorian Bike Ride and Do It For MS! It is 527km over nine days, and will take place in Nov/Dec this year.
Why am I fundraising?
Aside from my own MS challenges, I’m raising funds to support other people living with multiple sclerosis. MS is an incurable, progressive disease of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.
Every day 4 young Australians are newly diagnosed with this chronic disease. It can strike anyone at any time and the symptoms vary so widely. MS can affect balance, coordination, vision, sensation....any human function, and it is entirely random.
Very few MSers live a life without pain. You might find the following video link interesting...it represents me and other MSers "cycling".
With a diagnosis of MS..... All of a sudden your world has changed forever.
Thanks to your generous support, the funds we raise will allow people living with multiple sclerosis to access vital MS support services. This includes keeping Aussies living with multiple sclerosis in the work force, and connecting people who are newly diagnosed with the information and support they need. Too many "young" people with MS, live in aged care facilities....the MS Society strives to assist MS'ers to maintain their independence in their own homes.
Thank you again for your support, I will be thinking of the well wishes and comments on this page as I take on my challenge!
