Thank you for supporting my fundraising efforts as I take on this challenge and Do It For MS!
Why am I fundraising?
I'm 70 years of age and my wife, Annette, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2000. MS attacks the central nervous system, and there are four different sub types, varying in degree of seriousness. Although a cure is yet to be found, it is predominantly discovered in females aged from 20-50.
Annette fought to maintain a ‘normal’ life for 10 years but now MS has taken its toll. She has had chemotherapy and steroid treatment. It’s too late for Annette but through completing My Personal Challenge for MS, and with your help, I hope to raise financial support for MS sufferers and their families to bring them a little bit of relief.
In December 2013, I ran from Eden to Bombala. In 2015, 2016 and 2017 I ran from Merimbula on the south coast of New South Wales to Jindabyne- a 190km trip. This year I'm running 83km from Dalgety to Bombala and will celebrate with you all on the Saturday night with a FUN FILLED FAMILY EVENT!
I understand money can be a bit tight but I ask you to look at your loved ones and be truly grateful for all you have. Think of the little things taken for granted: running; walking; playing with your children and grandchildren; and even putting your own shoes on. These are daily challenges faced by MS sufferers.
Thank you again for your support, I will be thinking of the well wishes and comments on this page as I take on my challenge and I hope to see you all on Saturday 10th November at the Bombala Club for a great dinner, music and exciting charity auction!
