Dirt Riders MS Joshasherwing

The Dirt Riders MS were looking forward to taking part in the MS Melbourne Run + Ride Festival to challenge ourselves and fundraise for MS. As this event has been postponed to 2022 due to COVID, we have decided to take it this bike ride virtual on the weekend of the 4th - 5th of September.

You can sponsor and follow our journey through this fundraising page. Your generous donation will ensure that Aussies are well supported while they face the challenge of living with multiple sclerosis!

MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system - currently there is no cure.

It's quite staggering to think that multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other neurological condition, with the average age of diagnosis just 30 years old. Every case of multiple sclerosis is unique - the symptoms, severity and progress of the disease are different for everyone.

You can ensure Aussies living with multiple sclerosis can break down barriers, achieve goals and live well by making a secure online donation.

Thank you for your support.

Ian and Anna and Josh are a family team who all live together on the Bellarine Penisula. We are passionate about bike riding, staying mentally and physically well and caring for this beautiful part of the world. When Erik told us about the ride for MS being cancelled again because of the dangerously infectious CoVid delta variant and his collective plan to ride the rail-trail we felt very motivated and happy to participate. Josh and I had a long-time and close  family friend who suffered for many years with MS. He was an inspiration to us as is Erik and his positive and respectful attitude to us all. Between Erik, Andrew his co-worker and my husband Ian our bikes are kept up in the best possible condition. So it is up to us now to ride well and safely for such a strong and important cause. We look very much forward to contributing in all the different ways we can as a group and as part of the Dirt Riders team. By the way, our group name comes from our beautiful dog Asher. She is a 5 year old Blue Heeler much loved by us all. Please donate or if you can't send us your positive thoughts. Happy riding and best wishes the Asherwing group. Say safe and get vaccinated. We are all fully vaxed.
