Roc My Way – 21K for MS

Please help me to be Limitless For MS!

Hi friends,

For my Dad’s birthday this year, I’ve signed up for a half marathon in Huskisson – 21km of running (well, moving forward in some way!) – and I’m doing it to raise funds for MS.

I’ve never been much of a runner unless it was for my life… but life is exactly why I’m doing this.

It’s been a tough, transformative 12 months of letting go of what’s not good for me and holding tightly to what is. My latest MRI showed that my MS hasn’t progressed — in fact, some of the lesions on my brain have shrunk. That news, and my famously stubborn streak, gave me a little spark. I’m running with it. Literally.

This challenge is deeply personal. MS is unpredictable, progressive, and often invisible. I live with it every day. There are moments of deep fatigue and self-doubt, but also fire, determination and gratitude that my body still can. I don’t take that for granted.

A few years ago, I trekked Cradle Mountain while questioning whether I could even make it up a flight of stairs without collapsing into a nap. And I finished strong. That experience taught me what I’m capable of. It reminded me that even when I’m tired, scared or unsure — I’m resilient. I’m still here. And I’m still moving forward.

Now, I’m taking on this half marathon with the same mindset: do what I can, with what I have, while I still can.

I’m asking for your support — not just for me, but for the thousands of Australians living with MS. The funds we raise will help provide vital support services, fund research, and offer hope to people like me.

MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system in young people, and there is no known cure — yet. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us get one step closer.

If you’ve supported me before, thank you. Your generosity moved me in ways I’ll never forget. If this is your first time joining me on a challenge — welcome! I promise to carry your encouragement with me for all 21km.

Please consider making a donation or sharing this page. And if you see someone huffing along a bush track near Huskisson, red-faced and snack-fuelled, that’s probably me. Wish me luck.

With love and determination,

Rocio
